Unrealistic Consequences, or Not...
Classic JT, this in response to people asking why a lawyer would blame Grand Theft Auto for a shooting death, rather than the quantities of marijuana and alcohol the boys were consuming at the time:

They were playing a game that makes that type of gunplay appear fun and consequence-free. JT

So if they were "influenced" by the game, shouldn't they have been "programmed" to know that the instant they pulled the trigger, someone dies? The game is pretty clear about that. You point a gun at someone, pull the trigger, and it shoots them, and they usually die.

Sounds like the consequences of your actions are pretty well defined in-game...

and sometimes a star or 2 comes up, and then we have a warrent for our arrest. Let's not forget that.

It's not even covering the consequences of shooting someone. He's claiming that PULLING THE TRIGGER is consequence-free...

By his argument, the kids were expecting absolutely nothing to happen when the trigger was pulled. Which is not what the game taught them...

Post-trigger-pulling-death-consequences aren't even part of this argument. :)

I still can't figure out how this can be defined as a 'Murder simulation' without teaching kids that shooting people will kill them, it's a complete contradiction of facts.
